Our Programs

Stocking Pantries

The Kansas Food Bank is the primary source of food for hundreds of hunger-relief agencies in our 86-county service area. These agencies include food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, after-school programs and senior delivery programs.

Food-4-Kids

Food 4 Kids was established for students who are food insecure and who are not getting sufficient food outside of school on a regular basis. The Food Bank provides food and supplies to Food 4 Kids schools in Kansas, which are operated in partnership with community schools.

Rural Delivery

Because hunger is a problem in rural communities as well as urban areas, the Kansas Food Bank operates a delivery route system that brings millions of pounds of food to hunger-relief agencies across our 86-county service area.

Food Recovery

Each day the Kansas Food Bank’s refrigerated trucks head out to pick up fresh meat, produce, dairy, bakery and lunch meat items from over 38 Wichita-areal Dillons, Walmart and Sams Club Stores. These retailers pull product that is approaching sell-by date but is still high quality food, stored at proper temperature.
