Legislation exists which allows you to make worry-free donations of food products. For more information about this see the Good Samaritin Act.
Food Industry donations
We rescue million pounds of food each year -- food from retailers, manufacturers and distributors that is "unmarketable" for various reasons (minor denting, mislabeled, discontinued, over-stocked, etc.) If you have, or know of, a food industry source of food that would help feed more Kansans, contact us at 316-265-3663 or e-mail info@ksfoodbank.org.
FOOD FOR KANSANS AT RISK OF HUNGER
The Kansas Food Bank is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that actively solicits surplus food and other goods. The products are distributed to a network of over 400 feeding programs in Kansas. In the last Fiscal Year, the Kansas Food Bank distributed more then 4.5 million pounds of food through its network of charitable agencies effectively feeding those in need of our services.
